# Example: a brief that needs clarification

FICTIONAL BRAND, CREATOR, DATES AND AMOUNTS. All fees illustrate arithmetic only; not suggested market rates. No quotation has been issued.

## 1 / Incoming brief
“Hi, we need two UGC videos for our new reusable bottle. Around 30 seconds each, for social and ads. Can send raw footage too? We need it next week. One round of changes should be enough. Let us know your price.”

This request does not establish advertising duration, accounts, exclusivity, raw-footage scope, reshoots, deadline or payment milestones. “Social and ads” is not a complete usage specification.

## 2 / Questions before price
| Item | Question to the brand | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Deliverables | Two final edits, or multiple hooks/versions as well? | Confirmed in example: two final edits only |
| Posting | Delivery to the brand only, or posting on creator account? | Confirmed: delivery only |
| Organic use | Which brand-owned channels and how long? | Confirmed: brand Instagram and TikTok, three months |
| Paid ads | Which accounts, channels, territories and dates? Creator-handle ads requested? | PENDING |
| Raw footage | Which selected clips, and what editing/reuse permission is requested? | PENDING |
| Revision | What can change after first cut? Does a new concept require a reshoot? | Confirmed: one consolidated edit revision; new concept/reshoot separately scoped |
| Deadline | When do product, script approval, first cut and final approval happen? | Confirmed timeline below |
| Exclusivity | Is category exclusivity requested? Category and duration? | PENDING |
| Payment | What triggers deposit and balance? Who approves delivery? | Confirmed illustrative split below |

## 3 / Illustrative confirmed scope
Two vertical 9:16 videos, 25–35 seconds each, 1080 × 1920 MP4 with burned-in BM captions. One concept per video, final edited files only. No extra hooks, alternate versions or creator-account posting. Brand confirms product facts and approves scripts before filming. Creator does not invent product claims.

Timeline example: product and approved brief received 12 October 2026; scripts approved 14 October; first cuts 19 October; one consolidated feedback list by 21 October; final delivery 23 October. If material or approval is late, parties agree a revised timeline rather than assume the original date still applies.

Example agreed organic usage: brand-owned Instagram and TikTok for three months, with exact start/end dates recorded before final quote. Paid-ad usage, creator-handle ads, raw footage and exclusivity remain pending and are excluded from the base-scope quotation. Do not assume those permissions were granted.

## 4 / Draft quotation — base scope only
| Description | Quantity | Illustrative unit fee | Line total |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| Final edited UGC video, agreed base scope | 2 | RM300 | RM600 |
| Agreed organic repost scope | 1 | Included in base example | RM0 |
| Paid ads / raw footage / exclusivity | — | Pending; excluded | Not quoted |

Base-scope total RM600. Illustrative 50% deposit RM300; remaining RM300. No taxes or transaction fees calculated; any applicable amounts must be confirmed separately. This is not a quotation for the full original request and is not ready to send while usage dates remain unspecified.

Creator chooses and agrees every fee; the kit does not recommend rates or licensing multipliers. Do not represent excluded pending items as free or as a final all-in total.

## 5 / Reply to clarify the deal
“Thanks for the brief. Saya boleh semak skop untuk dua final edited videos. Sebelum final quotation, boleh confirm paid-ad channels, account, territory dan usage dates? Untuk raw footage, nyatakan clips dan cara penggunaan yang diperlukan. Adakah exclusivity atau posting pada account saya diperlukan? Base scope yang saya susun belum termasuk perkara tersebut. Selepas confirmation, saya akan kemas kini quotation dan timeline.”

## 6 / Before delivery
Check approved script/product facts, final count and specs, consolidated revision completion, agreed usage dates, file names, asset permissions, approving contact and payment status. Obtain an explicit acknowledgement of files received. If usage expands later, clarify new scope rather than treating it as covered by this example.
